3 Eye Care Mistakes to Avoid

We’ve compiled a list of three common mistakes people make regarding eye care.

Here are some ways to avoid making them.

Not Eating Nutritiously

Eating a balanced diet rich in vitamins A and C can help keep your eyes healthy by providing them with essential nutrients like lutein and zeaxanthin, which are vital in protecting against age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Other foods like salmon, tuna, eggs, nuts, leafy green vegetables, and citrus fruits are excellent sources of these nutrients, protecting the retina from UV light damage caused by sunlight exposure and other environmental elements over time.

Overusing Contact Lenses

You should only wear contact lenses for more extended periods, giving your eyes a break every few hours. Otherwise, this could cause irritation or cornea damage.

Over time due to inadequate oxygen flow into the eye area when lenses are on too long without taking them off periodically throughout the day or night, depending on how often you wear them during activities such as sleeping or showering, etc.

Always follow directions an optometrist gives regarding contact lenses and cleaning instructions so as not to cause unnecessary harm/damage to your eyesight!

Ignoring Symptoms

You should visit an optometrist or ophthalmologist if you experience any changes in your vision, such as floaters, blurred vision, flashes of light, or headaches.

These could be symptoms of more serious underlying conditions like retinal detachment or tumors, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry about your vision!

Wrap Up

Making sure you take proper care of your eyes is incredibly important for maintaining clear vision now and into the future—but not everyone does so!

Understanding common mistakes in eye care can help you avoid making them yourself to keep your eyes healthy for years!
